CranioSomatic Rehab Institute is:

– Relating muscular function to cranial sutures.
– Relating sutural patterns to SBS (spheno-basilar-synchondrosis) patterns.
– Relating SBS patterns to muscular and pelvic patterns.

CSRI techniques balance and integrate cranial bone “tension” mechanisms, and through this process, they influence body structural relationships and their function. These cranial mechanisms give direct access to three major righting regulators (vestibular, ocular and suboccipital), and indirect access to spatial awareness for long term and permanent changes. These cranial changes have measurable effects – from the craniofacial components, the cranial base, and the occipital condyles – down the spine,, through the pelvis and lower extremities, to the feet. This altered relationship between the feet and the ground changes the ascending feedback for body perceptual action.

Our approach is strongly rooted in biomechanics. Improvements in energy and fluid dynamics are a secondary benefit of the biomechanical techniques that we use to initiate changes. All health care providers can learn these techniques; no exceptional abilities are required!

We are teaching Primary Cranial Patterns and their relationship to compensatory body patterns. These patterns are not the result of anyone’s function; we all get them as primary operational programs at birth, which are strengthened by ontogenesis.

Most of the techniques can be validated by changes in manual muscle testing (MMT) results, range of motion (ROM) or therapy localization and challenge techniques.

We are inviting you to explore our advanced approach to physical medicine. CranioSomatic Rehab Institute, LLC was founded in 2018. However, its older sibling, Hancock CranioSomatic Institute, has been teaching similar concepts for almost three decades. Our new organization, CranioSomatic Rehab Institute, presents these concepts and techniques specifically for Physical Therapists and other structural body workers. On our blog (under development) you will find a wide range of information related to cranial concepts , courses, and educational material tailored to fit your needs! Our mission is to provide the highest level of CranioSomatic education for professionals, continuous improvement in treatment methods / techniques for better and quicker functional outcomes, and a venue for research in this exciting field. Thank you for your time, do not hesitate to contact us.

Who We Are

G. Dallas Hancock

Dr. Hancock is founder and president of Hancock CranioSomatic Institute. Flo Barber-Hancock

Dr. Florence ‘Flo’ Barber-Hancock is the Co-Developer of CranioSomatic Therapy. She also developed a unique cranial therapy – Facilitated Pathways Intervention® (FPI). Dr. Barber-Hancock’s FPI concepts and treatment findings were the topic of her Ph.D. dissertation, and this amazing therapy is the cornerstone of her clinical practice in neuromusculoskeletal disorders and neurosensory rehabilitation.

Unique

With over 30 years of experience with CranioSomatic techniques, we reliably produce long term improvements in the function of the postural righting mechanisms. These unique results are based on accurate testing for diagnosis of cranial and somatic dysfunctions and methodical treatment techniques.

Quality

Our depth of knowledge and extensive clinical experience allow us to translate theory into practical skills. The quality of our teaching provides practitioners with understanding and the ability to achieve the best functional outcomes in their work with patients.

Expertise

We have the knowledge to identify and treat cranial patterns, as well as compromised systemic dysfunctions. Our expertise helps practitioners relieve pain and improve homeostasis by rectifying equilibrium and improving muscle strength and range of motion.

Guarantee

Our guarantee to all attendees is to teach an advanced skill set that they can use in daily practice to restore patient functionality. Every practitioner that has good spatial awareness, knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and typical palpation skills can readily learn and apply CranioSomatic concepts and techniques in their practice.

Approach

Our methods for assessing the cranium and body clearly identify dysfunctions. Our advanced treatment approach provides efficient, precise, effective and uncomplicated techniques that promote systemic corrections.

Services

Our workshops are based on clear explanations of cranial philosophy and accompanying therapeutic techniques. We provide ample table time for participants to experience the benefits of the techniques they are learning, as well as excellent instructors and student ratios.
